Jurijs Kondratenko

Jurijs has a Bsc in Economics and Business (Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, 1998) and Msc in International Environmental Science (Lund University, 2003). He has more than 15 years of experience working with sustainable urban planning projects, specialising in green infrastructure, sustainable mobility, finance and economics matters. He has experience in sustainable stormwater management since 2012. Jurijs is currently active in several organizations: Grupa93 Ltd., D-0 Ltd., Cleantech Latvia.

He acted as project manager and expert in international capacity building and policy development projects like (D)rain for Life, RAIN-WATER-MAN, Baltic Flows, iWater, Aquares, BSR WATER. Jurijs leads the team of experts to formulate recommendations on regulation changes to facilitate sustainable stormwater management in Latvia. He has acted as an expert on sustainable stormwater management in various urban planning and design projects in Latvia, Kazakhstan and Russia. Has extensively lectured on the topic.

Jurijs believes in using stormwater as a resource and believes that to be successful, stormwater management solutions should deliver a mix of benefits not only in terms of water runoff management and water quality, but more importantly – in terms of integrated sustainable urban space.
