With the development of cities and the climate change, the natural water circulation is disturbed, which results in reduced water infiltration and evapotranspiration while the surface runoff increases significantly and more frequent flooding occurs in cities. With more consequences to come – lower supply of groundwater and change of the city microclimate, – steps needs to be taken to implement sustainable storm water management.
