Michał Preisner

Currently, I work as an Assistant Professor at the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (MEERI) in Cracow, Poland in the Division of Biogenic Raw Materials. I am involved in a number of international projects such as InPhos, CircuCity, DocSUM financed by the EIT Raw Materials and MonGOS project - "Monitoring of water and sewage management in the context of the implementation of the circular economy assumptions" financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

I have also gained relevant professional experience as a Project Officer in the Marshal Office of the Malopolska Region were I have been a regional coordinator of the SYMBI Project - Industrial Symbiosis for Regional Sustainable Growth and a Resource Efficient Circular Economy.

My scientific background is related to wastewater treatment technology (nutrient removal and recovery), eutrophication mitigation, surface water quality assessment, circular economy and industrial symbiosis.
In 2019 I was given a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering by the AGH University Science and Technology, Cracow, Poland by defending with honors a doctoral thesis entitled "The influence of wastewater treatment technology on the reduction of eutrophication potential of municipal wastewater".
