Production and use of PFAS in daily products
PFAS have been produced since the mid-1950s and are widely used in numerous industrial processes worldwide. They are present in a vast range of everyday products, and while you may have heard of some PFAS substances, their presence in unexpected places might surprise you. In fact, we all come into contact with PFAS daily—often without realizing it.
In this video, Angela Ivask (University of Tartu) and Ulrike Braun (German Environment Agency) explore the history and diversity of PFAS. Kamila Gruškeviča (Riga Technical University) and Matthias Barjenbruch (Berlin University of Technology) provide insights into PFAS-containing products, materials, and production volumes.
